Winston Whitehead has been involved with the flooring industry since 1971 and joined the Sterling Carpet Shops family in 1976 to help the founder, Bobby Lester, achieve his goals. Together they formulated goals and dreams of providing quality floors throughout Loudoun County. For the past thirty three years they have been very successful in doing just this. Before joining Bobby in the business adventure Winston has previous industry experience working with JJ Haines Company as a manufacture sales representative. He has had the pleasure of working throughout Loudoun County for the last forty years and hopes to continue the experience for many years to come.

Kevin Lester has been a full time employee of Sterling Carpet Shops since April 1999. He previously worked as a part time employee helping actively in our warehouse operations. Kevin has grown with the company over the years. From 1999-2005 he was our operations manager, and in August 2005 he became our Leesburg Store Manager. Kevin has shown wonderful leadership in the company and strives to educate our customers and our employees daily. He has knowledge from every angle of the industry including installs, sales, and service.

Shannon Potter is the Office Manager and Bookkeeper of Sterling Carpet Shops. She joined our team in January 2003 and has continually learned about the industry throughout the years. She takes pride in providing support to all of our customers for their accounting and financial needs. She also strives to continually receive excellent prices from our vendors to pass along to our customers

Jimmy Daugherty has over thirty four years experience in the floor covering industry. He has been a part of the Sterling Carpet Shops team for over twenty years and continues to provide the same excellence of customer service. He has knowledge that stems not only from sales, but installation and customer service. He started in the industry working in his parents store located here in Sterling in the early 1980’s. Jimmy is hoping to provide another ten years of service to Loudoun County before he retires to play golf and play with his new dog.

Mark Cohen joined the industry and Sterling Carpet Shops in August 2006. As Operations Manager his goal is to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the flooring installation process. With over 10 years management experience, Mark brings excellent customer service skills to each unique situation. In addition to customer follow-up, Mark’s responsibilities include scheduling jobs, ordering materials, and maintaining our warehouse.

Gerry Fried has over forty years in the floor covering industry. He came to the Sterling Carpet Shops team in January 2001. Gerry had previously owned his own company and worked throughout the state of Florida, as well as in the Northeast as a flooring consultant. We are very proud to have Gerry as part of our team. He is extremely knowledgeable with every aspect of the industry and is very detailed oriented. Gerry’s goals with us are to meet your every expectation and make your home as beautiful as you want it to be. Gerry is not available on Wednesdays.

Fran Hellwig has been employed with Sterling Carpet Shops for twenty one years. Fran has grown with our company through many moves and many changing styles. She strives to assist our customers with fashion and color design for that perfect room. Fran also is very knowledgeable in all of our products and is available in our Sterling store Tuesday and Thursday for any assistance that you may need.

Raymond Newhall (Ray) is the Warehouse Manager for Sterling Carpet Shops and has been a very big part of their team since 2006, and has provided experience to the industry for over 15 years! Ray personally strives to make sure every customer’s flooring is received from our manufactures in mint condition and that all the flooring is prepped in adequate time for our installers to give you the perfect installation.

Ricardo Espinoza has been a valued member of the Sterling Carpet Shops team since 2001. Ricardo not only works in our warehouse, but he also comes to most of our customer’s home to prep for the installation, do restretches, repairs, and deliveries. Ricardo personally strives to make sure that every customer is satisfied with every installation and to be available whenever duty calls for his expertise!
